Some people dream of starting a fashion brand. We accidentally ended up buying a factory.

Long before The Fringe Factory existed, our founder, Kelsey, was sewing every product by hand for her own brand, Fringe + Co. As demand grew, it became clear she couldn't do it alone, but she also wasn't willing to sacrifice quality, ethical production, or the New Orleans community she loved by sending manufacturing overseas.

After partnering with a local manufacturer for several years, an unexpected opportunity came along. They were ready to retire, and we couldn't imagine manufacturing anywhere else. So in 2022, we took a leap of faith and purchased the factory, preserving local jobs, keeping production in our city, and creating the kind of manufacturing partner we always wished existed.

Today, The Fringe Factory is a woman and LGBTQIA+-owned boutique manufacturer specializing in apparel, accessories, home goods, pet products, and other soft goods. We partner with brands across the country to transform ideas into beautifully made products through product development, patternmaking, sampling, cut-and-sew manufacturing, and launch strategy.

We're passionate about keeping manufacturing local, paying ethical wages, and proving that "Made in the USA" can also mean creative, collaborative, and deeply personal.
